Hi, I'm Sarah — the hands (and heart) behind The Cookie Stoop! 🍪

I've been baking professionally since 2011, after an accident left me permanently disabled.  I started out as My Sweet Escape in Orange County, California because that is what baking brought me, quite literally, a sweet escape. As I began studying and focusing more on foods for people with dietary restrictions, it grew into Sarah's Specialties. After relocating to Florida, The Cookie Stoop was meant as an extension of Sarah's Specialties right here in Orange City, Florida.

Every batch is baked right here at my home kitchen under Florida's Cottage Food Law, which means small-batch, made-with-care treats — no big factory, no mass production, just me, my oven, and a whole lot of flavor experiments. I run things on a weekly drop model, so you'll always find something new (and limited!) to look forward to.

You'll usually find me with my two French Bulldogs, Sky and Ryder, close by supervising the operation (mostly waiting for crumbs). And keeping me company in spirit is Morselle, our round, cat-eye-glasses-wearing mascot who's basically the unofficial face of the brand at this point.

The Stoop itself ran on an honor system — a neighborhood thing, a trust thing, and honestly, one of my favorite parts of doing this. Orange City and the greater Volusia County community have shown up for this little cookie dream in ways that mean more than I can say, from cheering on new flavors to supporting local causes alongside me.

That little neighborhood stoop has now grown into something much bigger, and The Cookie Stoop is becoming a household name — bringing sweetness and joy to people everywhere while continuing to give back whenever I can.
